not Berko seem doomed and face the prospect of playing in the South Mids Premier next season, i'm almost jealous of their position of so many local fixtures, with the following clubs within spitting distance:

Chalfont St Peter, Leverstock Green, Tring Athletic, Aylesbury Vale

Also the following are not too far either: Colney Heath, Welwyn Garden City, Oxhey Jets, London Colney.

Marc, there's talk on some forums that Berko could be demoted into the South Midlands first division because of the size of their debt. Most probably an unfounded rumour, does anyone know if the can the F.A. do that ?

I dont know of a club suffering a double relegation due to debt, it wouldnt happen at pro level and it wouldnt happen in the low pyramid. The league are obliged to provide a competative standard, i doubt the South Mids division one clubs would appreciate a team from the Southern League joining their ranks.

Three seasons ago both Venezia (Serie B to Serie C2a) and Como (Serie C1a to Serie D) were relegated two divisions because of their finances. Its common practice in Italy to do this and i've heard that other countries like Germany, Slovakia and Poland have also done likewise in the past (Slovan Bratislava for example).
So certainly those FA's have the power to do it....and as we're now a part of Europe maybe ours does to?
I must admit though i've not heard of the English FA doing so before now.

What if it's 6 figures and they are forced into administration?
No conrete behind it, it just something I heard at Chesham the other week.
Like Barton being told their ground not up to grading standards, cos they don't have enough seats - albeit mr windows has probably thrown money at it.
And Leighton Town failing the grading inspection cos their pitch isn't wide enough.
You know - rumours!! only rumours !! nudge nudge wink wink!!
