TRURO CITY AND THE SOUTHERN LEAGUE

Postby steve on Fri Dec 07, 2007 5:16 pm

With Truro City looking very likely to win the ToolStation Western League and gain promotion to the Southern League South & West Division I notice on their forum that they are planning to become a full time professional set-up next season.
If they do get the expected promotion their travelling will be extroadinary, they won’t have a league opponent within 125 miles and a total mileage of over 5,000 miles just for league games, well over double anyone else.
The speed at which they are climbing the non-league pyramid could mean they will be in the Southern Premier in 2 seasons time. If we’re still in this league then, what’s the odds of an 11 hour round trip there on a cold, wet November Tuesday…

I think that if we were in the same league as Truro it would be a cert that any away games would end up on a Tuesday night (jan or feb of course) one way or another :(
