A biased report from the Bristol Online site
HEMEL WIN THE BATTLE IN THE AIR
Yate's failure to deal with high crosses into the goalmouth was the cause of this defeat after looking the better side for most of the match.
The hosts badly missed the influence and aerial ability of skipper and central defender Lee Jefferies, who was only fit enough to be named on the bench after a bout of sickness.
Yate had most of the play in the first half, with Aaron Blakemore unsettling the Hemel defence with his pace. But they lacked a killer touch in front of goal, while goalkeeper Ian Brown came to the visitors' rescue on more than one occasion.
It took a strong clearing header from defender Mike Taylor to prevent Yate going a goal down early in the second half, before Hemel Hempstead took the lead on the hour.
Chris Herron's corner created uncertainty in the home defence and Steve Jackman's close-range header found the net.
Then a high, hanging cross from the left created panic in the Yate back line between goalkeeper Tony Court and defender Ed Vahid, which ended with Vahid heading into his own net.
Substitute Dean Griffiths missed a chance to get Yate back in the game and Brown saved late on from Phil Waters. _________________ GET THE COOK OUT |

| How strange, no mention of our perfectly good goal ruled out in the first half, and funnily I can't remember them having any chances at all until the 80th minute or so. |
