I dont know if this is true or not, but this was posted on the official Hemel forum yesterday by someone called vendig:
"I hear a rumour that you are close to signing former Borehamwood and Stamford forward Ian Cooper".

Not knowing who he is i asked on the Ryman forum for any info and got this reply from Tree Surgeon:
"Played for us (Waltham Forest) in two spells and does know where the goal is - but does like a chat with the referee and often gets booked for verbal
Will get loads of goals in Division One not so sure he can do it as regularly in the Premier though"

This from the Stamford site:
IAN COOPER: Exciting front runner recruited in the summer of 2006 from Boreham Wood where he was prominent in their FA Trophy run and championship success. Started out with Stevenage, he has also played for Enfield Town and Waltham Forest. D.O.B. 20.7.81.

then i got this from the Borehamwood archives:

Notes - Ian is a 24 year old attacking forward, who lives in Borehamwood. Season Stats 2005/06
54 appearances in total
37 league appearances
23 goals scored
11 assists
6 player of the match awards
Average rating of 6.63/10
14 yellow cards
1 red cards

Might be interesting if true...

Made his debut for us against Rugby today, and scored with a cracking low drive from a very acute angle which went in off the far post.
Looks a little unfit at the moment (was replaced by Hunt with 15 mins left)but considering he was playing South Midlands footy with Hertford before he joined us he did well none-the-less.
A small player in stature but put himself about - which was nice to see.

The part about him liking a chat with the ref is absolutely true as well Wink Great goal today though - the angle wasn't just acute, it was near enough non existent!

From the Rugby site.....

....Out of nowhere Hemel were ahead. Hemel striker Ian Cooper's goal would have been fit for the Premier League as he magnificently spun past Scott and drilled a effort into Richard Anstiss' net from an improbable angle.
