|
|
I can confirm that I have appointed Darren Salton as my Assistant Manager last night. I wanted him to meet the Players and be involved in training last night at the club before publicly announcing his appointment.
The appointment has been very well received amongst the players and I look forward to working with Darren over the coming weeks as we seek to rediscover our early season form and mount a challenge on the Play Offs.
Darren is well known to me, a person I respect and has a lot of knowledge of our league. He is also an 'A' Licence Coach and will concentrate on that alongside Kevin England. |

I,m sure in some peoples eyes this is a good appointment, but is it what we need at this time of the season!!
I,m not well enough up on non-league football to comment on the person, but surely its a few more quality players we need, not a assistant manager?
I personally would have left SB to it till the end of the season, before filling a managerial position.
Do you really think that this will make some 'frankly not very good players' get suddenly better????? |

i think this apointment will help steady the ship and as far as i know the players have taken to Darren already. He is a very good coach with an infectious personality and will offer something diferent interms of training etc.
i know who i personally would like to come (Back) to Vauxhall Rd but with the current plyers we certainly have a base on which to work from.
Drew has goals in him and with a little luck and confidence we will see him back to his explosive best. _________________ WALKA FOR CLUBMAN OF THE YEAR 2008

Just a word to wish Salts the very best of luck at Hemel and hope he enjoys some success at Vauxhall Road.
I know Salts well and I know he was desparate to get another appointment, I'm sure he will not let you down.
I also speak for a number of his friends at Hitchin. Thanks Darren. |
