| Decent enough first half where we kept them quiet, second half they ran riot and there was nothing we could do about it. Simply beaten by a vastly superior team today. Ah well, we'll pick up a point or two soon, hopefully. |

| A terrible performance and quite frankly I cant see how SB can improve it with the players at his disposal I think we should be worried about relegation unless he can get some quality players in. |

I thought today was dire, yes we kept them quiet in the first half but are our expectations now so low that we consider it a success when we keep the opposition quiet. After half-time we might as well have sent out the keeper plus 10 traffic cones, there was no effort or fight.Like Hemeldonian I can't see how Bateman can turn this mess around.I think we should be safe with 40 points,I hope so because at the moment I can't see where the next win is comming from. _________________ FOYSC |

In all fairness to SB, we now have to give him time to improve matters.
His side from last season is no more and some players will still leave if Boggy decides to cut the wage bill, or if they decide to follow DN wherever he goes next.
Certainly SB (asuming he stays) will need the rest of this season just to find players good enough to bolster our current meagre squad.
I think as supporters we have to back off a bit, & be realists and write this season off.
I think it'll be best if we just put it down to experience, back SB and the team we have and move on for next season....In other words "take the pressure off"
Wadya think? |

there is still time to turn this around BUT if we dont this season then like tapper says im more than willing to be patient and let Steve sort this team out back to soley his own thinking and im confident that if we dont go up this seaon then we will next season.
remember (as indeed all of you will) under sole management of Steve we got to two play offs, 1 promotion and four cup finals in 2 seasons. so in my opinion he is then man to take this club forward.
in Danny's defense i think he tryed too much too quickly and if we were going to bring in virtually new squad it really should of been done in a slower proces than it was. Danny's gone and i wish him all the best in the future and im fully behind Steve for this season and beyond!

I completely agree. This season is writeoff and we need to be concerned with making a respectable finish and keeping away from the bottom reaches of the league. We're missing a lot of the players that made us a decent team last season, but I'm willing to give SB the time to replace those players and build the team again. I just hope Boggy is too... |

I dont think you can complain about a 3-1 DEFEAT to team bath, we were lucky not to concede six. l fully understand that we are short of quality players but, can someone tell me why hemels No 10 (not sure if i,m allow to name and slag a player) is in this league!! you can go to any local pitch on a sunday morning a get a better player. I do though agree that we should write this season off and hopefully look forward to a better season next year. And those kids behind the goal should be praised, they sang all day |

If i was SB i would start by shifting some of the deadwood out to build for next season.
I also feel he should try to recruit as many local quality players he possibly can. The team needs a local backbone and the nucleus of the squad should be local as well.
Local players tend to wear the shirt with more pride, passion, commitment and have far more rappour with the supporters.
Remember the good old days with Neil Price at the helm that is exactly what we had and it was the most successful spell in this clubs history.
Boggy,SB bring the good times back. |

the thing that i have noticed throughout the season is that there is little or no genuine wing play being used throughout the games. What i mean is last season we had ting tong sinky and hezza on both wings and we got plenty or barline crosses in which indeed created alot of chances and also a few goals and i think thats one thing that missing at the mo.
on a positive note we have some very promising young players and with example such as GK Sam styles, Ozzy Champion and Adam Martin and a host of youth/capital players knocking on the door the long term future is looking bright. _________________ WALKA FOR CLUBMAN OF THE YEAR 2008

Just an idea but what about trying Nathan Bowden Haase as a target man up front with either Drew or Dills playing with or behind him.We have 2 center backs I think for the rest of the season or just for a few games its something differant and it might get us back on track (look at how many teams we play with a tall target man) |

| An interesting idea, but the ball can't stay in the air forever, and we've all seen what Bowden-Haase is like with the ball at his feet... |
